CDC Breastfeeding Report Card 2016 - Breastfeeding Rates Continue To Rise In The U.S.

The definitive report on the state of breastfeeding in the US.

Published annually by the CDC, the Breastfeeding Report Card contains state-by-state data to help health professionals, employers, business owners, community members and family members work together to protect, promote and support breastfeeding. As the report notes, "the percent of live births occurring at hospitals that have been designated Baby-Friendly by the Baby-Friendly Hospital Initiative increased from 7.8% in 2014 to 18.3% in 2016, an encouraging trend in improved maternity care practices that support mothers and infants."

NICHQ's Best Fed Beginnings project directly advanced many hospitals toward the Baby-Friendly designation from 2011 to 2015.
